Summer Offer
Sweep in Summer: Get Ahead of the Burning Season and Save 10%
Nobody thinks about their chimney in August. That is exactly why it is the best month to book one. Here is why a summer sweep is the smart move, and how to claim 10% off your sweep in Worthing and West Sussex when you book before 1st September.
10% off sweeps booked before 1st September
Book your sweep with Flue Fighter before 1st September and take 10% off the price. Your appointment can be later in the year if that suits you better – it is the booking date that counts. Just mention the summer offer when you get in touch and the discount is applied to your invoice.
Why sweep in the summer months?
No waiting list
From September onwards the diary fills fast, and by October most sweeps are booking weeks ahead. In summer you can usually pick the day and time that suits you.
Soot attracts moisture
Acidic soot and creosote left sitting in the flue all summer absorb damp from the air. That can corrode liners and flue components, and it is the main cause of that sour, smoky smell on humid days.
Time to fix problems properly
If the sweep uncovers a bird's nest, a cracked pot, a failed liner or missing cowl, summer gives you time to get it repaired without losing a single evening by the fire.
Nesting season is over
Jackdaws and other birds nest in chimneys through spring and early summer. Once the season ends, nests can be cleared safely and a cowl fitted to stop it happening again next year.
Insurance and certificates stay valid
Many home insurance policies expect an annual sweep by a qualified sweep. Getting your HETAS certificate in summer keeps you covered well before you light up.
Cleaner conditions
A cold, unused fireplace is cleaner and easier to work on than one that has been in use, and there is no need to wait for the appliance to cool down.
What happens if you leave it until autumn?
The first cold snap in October is when the phone starts ringing. Everyone wants their sweep in the same fortnight, and that means longer waits, less flexible appointment times, and the risk of lighting the fire before the flue has been checked. If a problem is found at that point – a nest, a blocked flue, a damaged liner – you could be without your fire for weeks while it is put right.
Sweeping early removes that risk entirely. By the time the weather turns, your chimney is clean, tested and certificated, and the only thing left to do is light it.
