Sweeping chimneys in Shoreham-by-Sea
Shoreham-by-Sea mixes old town cottages, houseboat living and newer riverside builds — which means every chimney is a bit different. I've swept everything from tight period flues off the High Street to modern twin-wall systems on the beach side.
Exposure is the big local factor. Properties along the Adur and out towards Shoreham Beach catch the wind and the salt, so exposed metalwork corrodes and rain gets in. If your fire has started smoking back into the room, that's usually a draw problem worth looking at before winter.
Every sweep includes a smoke draw test and a HETAS sweeping certificate, which is what your home insurer will ask for if you ever need to claim.

“Wanted to get my wood burning stove ready for the winter season. The Flue Fighter website was easy to book through and great to be able to pick an appointment time if the next available slot isn’t convenient. The work was carried out very professionally and Jeremy explained what he was doing as he went along. Stove passed with flying colours and we’re now all set for winter. Five star service.”

“Jeremy swept our chimney last week to prepare us for the winter burn. He was friendly, thorough and efficient. He picked up on a damaged seal on the door and replaced without delay. He was able to offer some advice about the wood we burn by looking at the soot that he cleared. Highly recommended to anyone with a chimney!”
